Educational qualification

The advertisement asks for 10+2 (or equivalent) from a recognised board or university for the Head Constable post, and Matriculation (or equivalent) for the Constable post. You must hold the required qualification on the closing date, 11-11-2026. Candidates who are still appearing in an exam or waiting for results are not eligible.

Age limit and relaxation

The age limit is 18 to 23 years, counted on 01-08-2026. Your date of birth is taken only from your Matriculation or Secondary certificate, and CRPF says it will not accept later requests to change it. The advertisement gives these relaxations for meritorious sportspersons:

Category Relaxation
Unreserved 5 years
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) 5 + 3 = 8 years
SC / ST 5 + 5 = 10 years
Ex-servicemen (UR) 5 + 3 = 8 years, after deducting military service from actual age
Ex-servicemen (OBC) 5 + 3 + 3 = 11 years, after deducting military service
Ex-servicemen (SC/ST) 5 + 5 + 3 = 13 years, after deducting military service

The date for claiming SC, ST, OBC or EWS status is the closing date, 11-11-2026. Use only the certificate formats given in the advertisement's annexures.

Sports achievements that make you eligible

The advertisement lists the levels of competition that qualify. For the Head Constable post, these include representing India in recognised international events, representing a State or UT at the National Games or a national championship and winning a medal or a position up to 3rd place, finishing first or second in an individual inter-university event, or winning a Gold or Silver at a junior national championship.

For the Constable post, the list includes representing a State at senior or junior national games or championships, State school teams that won a medal or a position up to 3rd place at the national school games, Khelo India University, Youth or Winter Games (medal or position up to 3rd place), and representing a university in inter-university tournaments.

  • Only achievements from the two years before the advertisement was published count. The selection section gives the period as 30-09-2024 to 30-09-2026.
  • The sport must be one of the disciplines for which vacancies are listed in the advertisement (aquatics, archery, athletics, boxing, hockey, judo, kabaddi, shooting, wrestling, yoga and others, 22 disciplines in all).
  • If you are already in a government or semi-government job, your application must go through your employer with a No Objection Certificate.
  • Selected candidates must give a bond of Rs. 1,00,000 to serve the Force for at least 3 years.

How achievements are marked

Marks are given only for your single best medal or position in the period. A few examples from the official table:

Competition level Gold Silver Bronze Participation
Olympic Games 100 96 92 80
Asian Games / Commonwealth Games 80 76 72 60
National Games and Senior National Championship (individual) 30 26 22 12
Youth/Junior National, Inter-University, Khelo India (individual) 20 16 12 6

The full table in the advertisement has more levels, plus separate, lower marks for team events. In case of a tie in the merit list, the older candidate gets priority.

Physical standards

  • Height: 170 cm for men and 157 cm for women, with lower limits for Scheduled Tribes and some regions (for example, 162.5 cm for ST men and 150 cm for ST women).
  • Chest (men): 80 cm un-expanded with at least 5 cm expansion, with relaxation for ST and some regions.
  • Weight: proportionate to height and age, as per the medical standards annexure.
  • Vision: the medical section asks for 6/6 and 6/9 distance vision without glasses, and colour blindness makes a candidate ineligible.

Relaxation in height and chest is allowed only if you produce the prescribed certificate at the time of the Physical Standard Test.

Selection process

  1. Identity check with biometrics.
  2. Document verification, including original sports certificates.
  3. Physical Standard Test (PST).
  4. Sports Trial Test in your own discipline. No marks are given for the trial, but failing it ends your candidature, and a dope test may be done.
  5. Detailed Medical Examination, and a review medical if needed.

The final merit list is made from the marks for sports achievements, discipline by discipline.

Practical tips

  • Upload your sports certificate to your profile on rect.crpf.gov.in before applying. The advertisement says applications without it are rejected at scrutiny.
  • Check that your certificate shows the right event, level, year and position, and that it falls in the valid two-year period.
  • Keep originals and certificates in the exact annexure formats ready for the document stage.
  • Do not wait for the last day. Fee payment must also be done by 11-11-2026.
