Photo and signature checklist
- Photo: recent colour photo, light or white background, face in the centre covering most of the picture, eyes open, no cap or dark glasses.
- Signature: black or dark blue pen on plain white paper, the same way you sign everywhere. Take the picture in daylight without shadows, then use "Clean background".
- Size: always use the exact width, height and KB written in the notification. Choose "Custom size" if no preset matches.
- Format: the tool saves JPG, which almost every application form accepts.
- Upload the same photo in every stage of a recruitment, because it is matched at the exam centre and at document verification.

Frequently asked questions
How do I reduce my photo size to 20–50 KB?
Choose your photo, select a preset or type the width, height and KB range from the notification, and press Download. The tool picks the best JPG quality so the file lands inside the KB range, then saves it to your phone or computer.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The photo is resized inside your own browser. It is never sent to Government Job Desk or any other server, and it works even if your internet is slow.
Why does the application form reject my photo?
Usually because the file is larger or smaller than the allowed KB, the width and height are different from what the form asks for, or the file is not a JPG. Set exactly the numbers written in the notification and download again.
How should I sign for the signature upload?
Sign with a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper, take a clear photo in good light, then use "Clean background" so the paper becomes pure white. Do not sign in capital letters unless the notification allows it.
What photo do government exam forms accept?
A recent colour photo with a light or white background, face clearly visible and covering most of the frame, eyes open, without a cap or dark glasses. Some exams also need the date of the photo printed on it, so read the notification.
What is the size of photo and signature for SSC, UPSC and Railway forms?
Each recruiting body sets its own sizes and they change from time to time. Type the width, height and KB range from the notification in the Custom fields. The tool handles any size.
