Post-wise vacancies
Advt. No. 10/2026 offers 143 posts across four areas: thermal power stations and renewable energy, mines and allied services, renewable energy projects and planning, and services and support. Mechanical (66), Electrical (44) and Civil (23) are the largest disciplines, and Mining is also notified. Posting can be at Neyveli in Tamil Nadu, Barsingsar in Rajasthan, Talabira in Odisha, South Pachwara in Jharkhand or other solar and wind sites.
Eligibility in detail
- A bachelor degree in the notified engineering branch, with 60% marks for UR/EWS/OBC (NCL) and 50% for SC/ST.
- A qualifying score in the matching GATE paper (ME, EE, CE or MN). The advertisement as published refers to the GATE 2025 score.
- Upper age limit is 30 years for UR/EWS, 33 for OBC (NCL) and 35 for SC/ST, as on 01-11-2026.
- Candidates can apply for one area only, and the chosen area cannot be changed after submission.
Selection process
Selection is based on the GATE score (80 marks) and a personal interview (20 marks). Candidates are shortlisted area-wise in order of GATE score, in the ratio of about 1:6 or 1:10 against the vacancies.
Pay
Trainees spend one year in training and then join in the E-2 grade, in the scale of Rs 50,000–1,60,000, with an approximate CTC of Rs 14.5 lakh a year.
