The Staff Selection Commission is recruiting Constable (GD) in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, with 25,487 posts in total. The posts were open to 10th-pass candidates aged 18 to 23, and applications closed on 31 December 2025.
The computer-based exam was held from 27 April to 30 May 2026. On 12 October 2026 SSC published the lists of candidates shortlisted for the physical tests (PET/PST), which the CAPFs will hold.

About SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2026 – 25,487 Posts

Of the 25,487 posts, 23,467 are for men and 2,020 for women. Vacancies in every force except SSF are divided state/UT-wise, so candidates must later show a domicile certificate for the state chosen in the form. Some posts are kept for border districts and militancy/Naxal-affected districts.
Selection process
The SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2026 has five stages: a computer-based exam, Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test, medical examination and document verification. The CBE had 80 questions for 160 marks in 60 minutes, covering reasoning, general awareness, elementary mathematics and English/Hindi, with 0.25 marks cut for each wrong answer. NCC certificate holders get bonus marks.
Physical standards
- Race: men 5 km in 24 minutes, women 1.6 km in 8½ minutes (shorter distances for the Ladakh region)
- Height: men 170 cm, women 157 cm, with relaxation for some categories
Important points
- The CBE cut-off for PET/PST was 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS and 20% for SC, ST and ESM.
- 1,97,408 candidates are shortlisted: 15,782 women, 375 men for SSF and 1,81,251 men for the other forces.
- PET/PST call letters will be on the CRPF recruitment website. SSC has not yet announced the PET/PST dates.
