The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board has released Advertisement Notification No. 11 of 2026 for 458 Junior Engineer (Civil) posts: 282 in the Jal Shakti Department and 176 in the Public Works (R&B) Department. These are UT cadre posts in Pay Level 6.
J&K domiciles with a 3-year diploma or a degree in Civil Engineering (or AMIE Sections A & B) can apply online from 30 November to 29 December 2026. Selection is on merit in a written/OMR examination only.

The JKSSB Junior Engineer (Civil) Recruitment 2026 fills posts for two indenting departments:
- Jal Shakti Department (item 266): 282 posts – OM 113, SC 23, ST-1 28, ST-2 28, OBC 22, ALC/IB 11, RBA 28, EWS 29
- Public Works (R&B) Department (item 267): 176 posts – OM 71, SC 14, ST-1 18, ST-2 18, OBC 14, ALC/IB 7, RBA 17, EWS 17
The Board notes that the final number of posts may go up or down before the selection list is issued.
Eligibility in detail
Applicants must hold a valid J&K Domicile Certificate issued on or before the last date, 29 December 2026. Category certificates must also be valid on that cut-off date and in the prescribed format, and they have to be uploaded with the online form; no later chance to upload is given. Age is counted on 01-01-2026, and candidates born after 01-01-2008 are not eligible.
Exam pattern
The written test is objective type (multiple choice) and set in English only. One-fourth of the marks for a question is deducted for each wrong answer. The syllabus will be published separately on jkssb.nic.in, and the exam date and centres will also be notified later.
